No I got mine direct from Southdown
Polished stainless steel I then had it powder coated to stop the glare of the sun same as the checker plate on the bonnet and wings

I drew a template hole in the wing then cut it out then when you fit it there is seals between the wing and snorkel

It is possible to fit a snorkel anywhere you want as long as you have enough flexiy pipe so yes you can fit on top pf the wing

The sixty quid one is strong and you can redirect the pipe from the top bit with a bit of customising to suit your needs, the top piece is about forty quid bought separate so win win

I think I'll get the one you recommended thanks for that! As someone has suggested cut a hole in the vent on top of the wing and direct the pipe through there

This should give you an idea of the way the pipe goes on that one, should be quite easy to redirect it forward and down the vent:)

Just you don't need to fit the hard plastic piece that goes along the wing top.

Mine is a fully aluminium unit that I have brought out the top of the wing welded to a proper ally chequer plate bracket. So everything above the wing is welded and totally air tight. Full silicone hoses to turbo so is 100% air tight and then finished of with a proper snorkel filter on the top, like a k&n but with a cone cover around it to stop the dirt blocking it.

Can you buy that type of Snorkel from anywhere. Seems to be less easy to knock or damage from off-roading.

I'm sure I could make something up but checking first.

Just thinking. Is the wing top plate the same shape as the side vent? If so I could buy the kit, cut the plate and rotate 180* and re weld.

Hmm, too wet outside to check just now.

No its longer than the side plate. Its better there as you can't really knock it. Mines very similar but I made a metal plate to go over the gap and welded it to that.

Piccies please :D

Make it easier for people in the future to know what I've been rambling on about. :)

I'll get one tommorow. I'm really pleased with it and only had to buy the filter and hoses as the pipe was stuff kicking about the yard.

This is mine. Similar to the one you said about, injust decided to go bit more industrial. Its on the opposite side to what the 300tdi supposed to be but that's because its mated with the lt77 box, so engine is sat further back not allowing much room for the intake pipe.

That's why I made this. It needed to go out the heater vent to avoid the hoses kinking. So redirect the heater vent and made this, all the ally is welded completely on the top. Has the comp filter on the top so more room under bonnet and just relocated washer bottle to other side. May not be everyone's taste but I'm really happy with it and its completely water tight.

O ignore cable ties on heater, that's a temporary bodge until I get new heater cables lol
