M-Sport Freelander is up for sale on Ebay - item no.201005769035
That's one of MY light pods you see on the bonnet, love the FIAA lights, but they are damn expensive.

Then there's a Lotus tuned 1.8 boasting 145 bhp. with a more affordable price tag. Item no.281229102976 (I'll learn to link one day).
Can't help thinking I'd like to see it with a roll cage, bucket seats etc - but that's just how I like mine.

The engine must have had some performance cams, larger TB, a decent exhaust system as well as the BV head.
One thing I always find amusing with any adverts where a ported head is described. There is always big emphasis on polished heads!! Sadly polished ports loose more power than they make!!
The correct term to look for, is gas flowed ports. If it ain't been flowed there is know way to tell if the head work has gained or lost power.
The 4 pot K series can make 100 to 110 bhp per litre if the builder knows his stuff.

I wonder if that's the one that one of my colleagues in Swindon used to own for years and rally? He sold it recently and got a proper Rally Scooby from NZ.

Yes, I believe it belonged to Barry Ellison. It was on Ebay, like forever. But Andrew seems to have done a lot of work to it.

If that's a "Possum" Bourne Subaru that's left the country Kiwi's will be after it back. Like in the drama "The Man Who Lost His Head" with Martin Clunes.

Although they do tend to bend if landing hard nose first. :D

Yes, I should have said a flat landing!! If it lands heavily on the nose it's going to do some body damage. The strut mounts are well up to the job, the strut bends before the body. I was impressed with the durability of the standard shell. It's stronger than the crash tests results suggest.

My Freelander was built with heavy nose landings in mind............
