Land Raver

Does anyone know of any Series land rover breakers? Not after anything major, just thermostat housing top but they seem to be rocking horse dump.

theres usually a couple on ebay aren't there? I know Craddocks used to do it as thats where my 2.5 came from but dont know if they still do second hand bits

Guy just outside Basildon, Search "light weight land rovers basildon"on ebay, if no joy i have his no somewhere,

Craddocks no longer break them but may have parts. Google series /defender boys they advertise regularly. I put an engine in the skip this year never took the housing off though.

Have you seen the prices they charge well over the top

Thanks fellas. A few potential possibilities to follow up on for me.
Can't believe is so hard to find such a simple part :)

Is yours missing or just badly corroded on hose joint?
Easiest way is probably to buy an engine cheaper than the connection.
If just pitted where hose goes I would try coating with plastic steel then dress back till you get a good finish.

Thanks - that type is different. The photo suggests Series 1 I think??

I bought a spare very low mileage engine which I have looked over and am building up as far as possible. It's just missing the thermostat housing. I have one on my existing engine (in the Landy) but I just hoped to build the spare up as far as possible.

a location of ' meeting myself coming backwards' isn't entirely helpful when you are asking for landy breaker help?? I know two who could help if you are local to Berkshire (they don't do mail order) give us a clue then people will know if they are wasting their time replying???

cheers steve

Thanks James, not sure if it's the same sort but mines a 2.25 diesel. It's an. almost conical type of housing top where the top hose comes directly off as opposed to some which seem to have a kind of elbow in them
