Stuck out in the middle of no where, turn the ignition on my landy and all power cuts out. Nothing. The power comes on after 2 minutes but will cut out again if I try and start the car! It's a 200tdi? Starter motor shorting out?

possibly. Or battery absolutely fubared or bad earth.

yep they do bump but are very heavy.....also depends if imobiliser fitted too...

Sounds as though the battery might be fecked!

Have you tried a jump lead between the battery and the starter motor and another one between the battery and earth?

yep they do bump but are very heavy...

Have you tried a V8 disco full of tools on the flat?...

I had mine down to a fine art using drop kerbs...

..also depends if imobiliser fitted too...

That would be my guess, why I am so annoyed I took the tools out cause I don't have a wrench to get the seat off! Called recovery out with Adrian Flux. The battery is less than a year old and a decent brand. Alternator is also new, earths were redone with the new battery

Yep... It was just a battery terminal come loose :/

Always carry a selection of multibits, adjustable spanners and the like. Even cheap and naff tools will help get you out of a pickle

Yeah, it's rule #1 of owning a Landy

Rule #2, is to be a member of a recovery service.

Rule #3, keep a few creature comforts in the Landy for whilst your waiting for recovery.

Yeah tell me about it. I felt embarrassed! Gonna buy myself a new wrench and socket set soon so will through the old ones behind the sets!

I alway have one of those Halfords 1/4 drive mini socket sets with me ... Just in case!
