Hello all,

Can anyone tell me if Adwest make genuine steering boxes for Disco 2's?

I've had a supposedly new genuine one fitted by a main dealer, yet its clearly plated 'Adwest'

Can some of our resident experts confirm please?

Well I wouldn't call myself an expert but yes, Adwest make the steering boxes that are fitted at the factory.

LR like most large companies set a spec for the products they require with their suppliers, therefore a motor manufacture like LR with the quantities of parts that they require each day would have the same item from different manufactures.

Adwest are a respected manufacture, I don't see why having their name on an OEM part would be an issue, plus you have the main dealers warranty on the part.

I have already caught the Main dealer fitting a recon!

The Adwest box box would be a standard recon part for a main dealer to fit.Their parts system even advises checking to see if a recon unit is available before ordering a new unit.For which you would get charged a whole lot more.Which would still have been made by Adwest....
