any tips to help me remove the fulcrum i need to change my axle and replace ball joint for mot the two bolts seem to be welded solid its snapped me breaker bar so i got the impact gun on it and nowt happens any tips

They are a right pain, plenty of WD soaking and heat, or remove a good one from scrappy, they only charged me £5 for it!

I used plenty of gt85, a big breaker bar and a lot of effort. Came undone after a while. It was the balljoint that I found the most difficult, took my damn near two days to separate it from the axle

its bin soaking for days its snapped my 4ft breaker bar when i put a scaffy pole on it lol. i don't have to split ball joint from the axle as i have an adjustable ball joint and new fulcrum to replace when i fit the other axle its just them two bolts in the fulcrum. would one of them gas torches for machine mart work would it get it hot enough

it would help heat is always a winner.
try tightening a little before undoing to, usually works

Are you wanting to remove the fulcrum from the A-frame arms? If you are you first need to jack up the chassis to give working room then disc-cut the nuts off. Simples!

ok i have a grinder gonna go out now and try that way

I ground the nuts off and the bolts were still siezed in the arms and fulcrum casting . Had to put plenty of heat on them to remove them and had use a 8 foot scaff pole to wedge the arm against the axle from the chassis so I could hammer the bits out the arms .... RIGHT BITCH took me 2 days and ended up buying a complete fulcrum with ball joint ... Good luck

Well this is day 2 so I better get started.

I would always separate the balljoint from the from the axle before attempting to remove the carrier from the a-frame arms.

Once the balljoint is separated from the axle, in the worst case scenario you could remove the arms and carrier in one go, them get the carrier on a bench to separate it from the arms.

The big advantage is as well as replacing the balljoint, you could clean up the carrier and arms, re-bush if necessary and re-paint everything. Would look good afterwards.

that's the idea i had but day 3 still no joy it looked simple enough to do it but never mind at least my tool box is growing and my knowledge . I have never seen bolts this bad they are moving but only about 4mm

taking the grinder to it tomorrow
