Hi all,
Just in the middle of fitting new cats + lambdas to my v8, bit of a pig of a job really, as expected all of the downpipe studs snapped, as expected!
So I have the manifolds off, have drilled out and re-chased the threads on the manifold, that was a good couple hours of fun!
I'm nearly ready to re-assemble however, the manifold to head faces are pretty rough (on the manifold), as well as the faces on the downpipe sides, Can I use any sort of paste on them?
Silicone kills lambdas, what about bosal exhaust cement paste?
Obviously I'm using new gaskets (genuine) but I just got a feeling they're gonna leak if I assemble dry, especially given the 15ft-lb torque?

Any help much appreciated, Ta
