Yep! That'll cure all your leccy faults as if by magic.
The only one it won't sort for you is a flat battery .... in the meter.
 
You can read about VEHICLE :doh: (merkins!) electrics online and there are some good vids on youtube.

there was a thread on this not so long ago actually.

the V with the dotted line under is the one you need for DC volts(thats what cars run on ;))

and the A with the dotted line under is for measuring amps.

You might occasionally need the one with the Ohm symbol and the one that beeps when the probes are touched together.

I got one slightly bigger than that one from maplin a good few years ago (the same make too) for about £20. I needed a proper automotive one that did dwell and tach for setting timing properly.

Halfrauds sell the same one made and branded uni-t but in a Gunsons box for £50!! Bloody rip off
