went to fit my snorkel today and noticed that it was missing the piece that fits to the inside of the wing, anyone know where I can get one from?

Sorry my bad, it's a britpart one, all the other parts are there but the bit that goes from the air box to the wing is missing

What bit? Mine didnt have any bits on the inner wing. Just a few bolts going through with nuts on the inner wing.

This kit, there is all the external parts and fittings but nothing from the air box to the wing

Surely you just use the existing air pipe that was connected to your original air intake that you had to remove?

Yes, no mention of fitting to the air box, only fitting the plate to the wing, flexitube to the main tube then to the mushroom

you use a sealant gun and gasket to waterproof the join on the outside and then sealent gun again on the inside. you then use sealant on all the rest of the pipework joins too.

that's just how they are. just run a longer hose and push it up the snorkel.

It should have a black plastic square box section bit behind the grill.

so your thread title is wrong. Surely it should be summit like.... 'what part of my air intake am I missing as I cannot connect up the snorkel kit that I bought without putting it back to standard first?'

The first picky is to give you an idea but note the difference in pipe fitting between earlier round and later square fittings. The earlier one may well be better for you for fitting to the round pipe you already have.

Ha ha, yes you are missing a part, but it isnt a part that belongs to the snorkel. As ratty says its a standard part of the Defender air intake. Im guessing either you or the previous owner threw it away when fitting the Safari snorkel?
