at risk of a flaming, or starting another debate on towing, i work on the gtw (gross train weight) of my disco and trailer being 6.2 ton. the 3.5 ton gross trailer i use weighs in at 700kg, so max payload weight is 2800kg, just short of 3 ton.IIRC Kerb weight on a d1 is 1997Kgs but that's a with a full tank and allowing 75Kg for a driver. so fairly empty tank and no driver will probably bring actual weight down to 1875kg Approx.
