Hello , I,m wanting a freelander 2.0 diesel 1 , not sure which one is best , L 2.0 or td4 I,v heard horror stories about both , is there anywhere on here anyone has posted a buyers guide , or any one would offer any advice , 3dr/5dr/ tax cost ,towing , ease of repair maintenance etc any advice appreciated ,, my last landy was a 3dr 2.5 disco that I foolishly replaced with a pajero 2.8 never again thanks in advance

The landy couldn't have been too bad if you are looking for another
Personally I'd not have another Pajero!! Mine made my V6 Freelander seem economical!!

no my disco was excellent I just wanted something newer but it was big mistake buying a paj it was diesel and was lucky to get 19 mpg on a run it was awful , so I,m back on the lookout for a free lander , thanks for the reply

I drive a 99 2ltr diesel 5dr. I also heard all the horror stories but I love mine over the last 6mths I have had some problems such as diesel leak oil leak changed nsf wheel bearing But hey its a land rover piece of cake to repair, Now that I have one wont change to anything else. There are some really good guys and gals here more than happy to advice on repair ect. Go on bite the bullit the only thing i life we regret are the things we don't do. Happy hunting

I love my V6 an wouldn't be without it!! As with any car forum, you only ever see when bad things happen and someone needs help!! When the car is'nt missbehaving it not posted at all so it's a very 1 sided view to the casual observer
The Freelander is'nt a bad car but it's not a good one ether so you need to check everything very carefully when you buy one !!

I've got a K series, dealt with the HGF properly and it's been a sweet runner since.It's at 122k now so nearing time for new engine mount bushes, springs and shocks. Just to keep it fresh .

Had my 2001 TD4 for nearly three months now and I love it!!.I would deffo buy another.
