Hi just registered and new owner of a 2001 td4 feelander 135,500 miles the car has been fine no problems since i bought it but i was having problems with it losing power going up hill so i thought i would change the air filter and fuel filter the air filter change went fine the car started and ran no problem but as soon as i changed the fuel filter filling it up with diesel first the car started ran then cut out and has not started since both fuel pumps working/humming but since trying to start it the yellow management light has come on the rac guy came plugged his computer in showed no codes put easy start down the intake ran for about 5 minutes bit more then cut out since then turning over fine but will not start can someone please help with this it has got me round the bend.

More outstanding advice.
Anyway, since the problem is obviously since you changed the fuel filter....thats where to look. Start with the basics.....was it the correct filter? Did you connect all the pipes up the right way? The top of the filter (by the way I am assuming its the same as my 2001, with the pump and filter on the inner wing in the engine bay and not under the rear wheel arch) has a pressure sensor built in - is it flowing in the correct direction? is the wiring to the pressure sensor connected properly? Are all the hoses fully fitted? They are snap-fit connections and if one is not seated properly, it will draw in air. Disconnect the output from the filter and turn on the ignition - you should get a decent flow of fuel free from air bubbles. If not, keep checking.

Hi thank,s for the reply,s i have had the output off the filter housing and there is a steady flow and the connectors all secure the injectors have all been cracked off and there is fuel to them all i just found it strange when the engine started and ran for 5 to 10 minutes when some easy start was used a brief amount i was able to rev the car but then it cut out and has not started since this is when the yellow management light came on,the in tank pump is humming and the under bonnet one the rac man could not find any codes and since then another code reader has been used a mac tools one and that says no codes stored.I think i will nedd a land rover code reader plugged in to see if that shows a code.
Booked in tomorrow to go on the computer hopefully it will be a cheap easy fix or should i laugh now i still cant understand why it wont run as i only changed the air filter and fuel filter it was after the fuel filter replacement that it would not start totally baffled with it and my first diesel.
Had the car into a local landy specialist put onto the computer and it said low fuel pressure cleared code,suspected pump under bonnet so new one bought and put on car still did not start used a touch of easy start and it fired ran a few seconds cut out bit more easy start same result then yellow management light has come back on so it look,s like another trip back to the garage to be put back on the computer.

The low pressure will trigger the EML light as soon as engine detects low pressure it will shut down to pretect HIGH P ressure pump (that supplies rail) .
Doing diagnostic thru OBD really tells you very little . You need to make sure both pumps (tank and underbonnet are running) and that you are not drawing air into system where you fitted filter eg damaged o rings in connecting pipes(the push fits) . You bleed by switching ign on untill pumps stop and then on again , a couple of times . You need the pressure switch to trip to enable start . HTSH

Just an update car still wont start even after getting the computer plugged in and told low fuel pressure and changing the front fuel pump being told that was probably the culprit so it is now back at the garage to see if they can figure it out it is still baffling me as all i did was change the fuel filter and then that is when the problem started getting peeved off now with the car.

take the pump out of the tank and see if the filter on the end is cloged up
