I assume there is a bearing where the propshaft meets the diff it was at this point where it was glowing, I am wondering if perhaps it is just the bearing that has gone, but would appreciate any advice of what to look for before i put it into be done, so hopefully not ripped of.many thanks in advance.

When did you last check the oil? I doubt it would have got that hot from bearing failure if there had been oil in it.

All that was supposed to have been checked over about 4 months ago unfortunately can't get under myself to check so have to take their word, must admit had couple of issues since and don't use anymore. but take onboard what you say and you may be right.

Pinion bearings are splash lubricated. If there is nothing to get splashed around they don't get lubricated.

hear what your saying and makes sense, would you say i'll need complete new diff, and or is there anything else worth looking at, as well as making sure the rear one's got oil in!!!all advice readily taken with thanks.
