Ended up outside last night doing stuff to the Landy!! Sorted the inch gap at the top of the passenger door with nothing but a block of wood and brute force! I then set about fixing the heater. Got it blowing hot air but the fan is pants so gotta look into getting more power out of it somehow!! A good evening had me thinks.

Turn the fan on and feel around the heater box in the engine bay, i wouldn't be surprised if it's most the air is blowing into the engine bay. Seal it up however you can.. i slapped on pu sealant everywhere :D

I've just bought some foam to wedge between the fan and intake as there is thumb width gap all the way round. Will fit it in the morning to see if there is a difference in gust. When the heater was on the demister setting I did feel some air coming out of the footwells so that may need fettling.

I fitted the proper genuine heater to bulkhead seal. What a bloody nightmare it was trying to get the heater back in, its made some amount of difference with the heat and air flow into the cab. It's worthwhile taking the heater out to do it properly though. I also sealed around the heater matrix with camping mat foam, you don't have to remove the matrix to do this, I just used opening at the front

doubt it'll make a difference, just won't suck in stinky engine air :D

I'm on about the riveted seams and the big hole where the pipes come out of. Once the foam has gone on that.. then it blows most of it into the engine bay.

Checked for leaks on the heater and it seems ok. When activating the fan with the left hand lever, is the first click fan on? with the other two being fan speed? If so is the fan speed controlled by a flap?

The lever on the left has two clicks at the very bottom, the first one is slow and the second click is slightly faster than slow. From the O mark at the top and to the first click is how far open the flap is, with the O being fully closed. That's how its supposed to work anyway but realistically you'll keep it just above the first click otherwise you could close the flap and it won't open again cos the designs ****e

1st click on 2nd low 3rd fast. It supposed to be a gradual sliding increase but that never happens. Worth taking the lever bit out and givinbg it good clean with swtich or contact cleaner.

check the cable ontop of the heater box as it's that which controls the flow of air into the box.

just shove a twig in it so it's on hot and fully open.. these new fangled wires and levers complicate matters. :D

Ill have a look at that tomorrow. I'll eak it out somehow. My last Landy heater was too hot sometimes so I know I can get more out of it!!

I may or may not have a twig like this and two flappin wires under me bonnet :D

I got two of them made up at the time.. but i only needed one.. i can send you the other if you want? say £5? :p

Off the subject of twigs, does anyone know the best way to get this sheared screw out of the lever on top of the heater box, which grips the cable? It seems too fiddly to tap.

Changed the thermostat for a new one and sealed up the gaps in the heater box. What a difference. Engine up to temp and a toasty warm cab!! Air flow from the dash is still a bit pants though!

It does that now. I'm well chuffed! Will take the fan speed switch apart to see if I can clean it up a bit!
