Need a bit of advice if I may, I have managed to get a set of 4 2 inch lift spings for 20 quid, only 2 months old or so, and in the middle of giving them a respray, but would I be able to change them with my standard height springs and keep everything else standard for the time being while I get the cash to change the shocks and that

just don't go off roading until you got extended brake hoses as it could go badly for you

if you have std shocks and mounts you will be fine!!

The correct way is to check but as robins says you will be fine

dont talk **** !

the shocks wont let the axel articulate enough to brake them :D:D;)

how is it talking ****??

I'd rather not risk it personally thanks, I also wasn't aware that passing on advice i've recieved was "****" either - what if the OP wasn't aware that you needed to extend brake hoses?

i have +2s and dislocating cones on mine, and only just now (10min ago) bought extended hoses £37 off ebay.

But it is something i have always been conscious of whilst laning or off road

so tell me how a standard shock can extend an extra 2 inches to match the springs wasnt saying your dont need to renew the hoses .... the op asked if it was safe to run with just +2 springs ......... you dont need to fit extended hoses as your still be running standard

The only possible thing plus 2 inch springs only will alter is ride height and this can vary again on spring dynamics I.e how the "lift" is achieved leaving the shocks alone assuming the rest of the car is as it should be it will most certainly be ok.

Forget risk if you understand what you have achieved there is Zero again for those here ZERO risk as you have changed NOTHING! No extra droop over std.

In all honesty even plus 2 inch shocks fitted correctly the rear brake pipe is not stressed normally. But when you gain droop the only way is to jack up and
Compress fully to check not doing so is just a hope in the wind that'll be ok and negligent if something was to happen.

Not changing shocks or mounts from std means there is nothing to worry about as no extra droop has been achieved I. E the axle will not drop any further the brake pipe will not need to be extended further ect

So to the OP again its fine nothing to worry about there may be some sad person not understanding what you are doing telling you that your car will explode because you have changed the springs which somehow means you NEED to uprate your fuel lines and or steering wheel as its semi connected via the chassis is absolute bollix!!
