does anyone know where i can take my v8 on su carbs balancing and setting up, preferably in yorkshire lol

that is a good start lol need to see if i can find a rover v8 specialist, my landy dealer is a very diesel person hes not a fan of the v8

It's not difficult to ballance twin carbs, I had a tool with a float to ballance my MGBs carbs.
Twin carbs are a pain to keep in tune so a tool that measures the induction air flow is a handy thing to have.

do they do this sort of thing at green oval?, ahhh so that will explain why when i first got it, it was fine and now its not

yup, stick it on one carb with the link bar off and the engine running, get the reading then stick it on the other side and match the reading then adjust for the engine speed etc you want if necessary and match the other side to that.

And to roughly set the mixture lift the piston and look in the carb, the brass bit that the needle valve sits in should be level with the base of the carb, just fine tune it from there ;)
