What happened to your engine? Need to fit a new water pump asap as i was putting new belts on and it's got a bit of play in it.

Just worn out - replacing it with a lower mileage 300tdi - Get some pics of your Disco on here and i'll keep an eye out for you mate!

Yep - well trying too......

If you need a hand just give us a bell, only ever done 2 engine swaps in land rovers but that was in 1999

I'm paying for a bay in a diy garage in Paisley, got the old engine out - just having snags getting the new 1 in
(have a look in the defender section - my thread is in there )

How far are you getting the gearbox to the engine? are there any locating dowels stuck in the engine from the old gearbox ?

No it does look like the spigot bearing is stopping it mating so i'll get the old 1 out first thing and replace it - then put the new clutch back on.

The guy usually opens at 9am and closes at around 7pm- so have been getting my mrs to pick me up at 7pm
