A Stinky, Noisy Diesel engine :D

You should know what I mean ! Lol

I actually like how noisy the diesels are, certainly turns some heads :p lol
tbh they sound lovely i had a 330 d few years back i was that paranoid about the swirl flaps in manifold i removed and replaced them does the l332 have them fitted ?it looks the same engine

Well as my EAS is now sorted I am now back on track with having a new Torque Convertor fitted

Will update when underway

OK - 1st Update

Driven to VMTP - had a long chat with Nigel and made him aware of my reasons for new TC, new gen LR oil cooller, strip, clean and rebuild

He says he has seen many RR Auto boxes eat themselves and has no problems with what I want to achieve

One thing they were not happy with though was the quality of my gearbox oil filter and I have subsequently swapped the item for a genuine LR item

They said they have seen non-gen filters collapse under high flow as no internal supports inbetween the filter element - £117.00 + vat gen LR :( £55.00 inc pattern part

Box will soon be removed stripped and I am going to inspect the stripped box tomorrow.

Further update tomorrow.

Paul - When I get back tomorrow I will not a lot more regarding total costs (obviously costs have been discussed but will be clarified)

But so far I am already into the following

20L Texamatic 7045E (delivered) £88 inc vat

Gen LR Gbox oil filter £140 inc vat

Gen LR oil cooler £210 inc vat

It is very clear so far that companies offering "the full job" for about £1700 for a "gearbox full recon" - you pays your money and takes your chance !

At least me "controlling" parts used etc where possible I know what has gone into this particular repair

So far VMTP have been very accomodating to my needs :director: lol

I can be very needy !!
