Hi All,
I have been reading many threads now about all the different tyres that
all you guys fit ready for the winter,
Grabber's
A/T
M/T & Snow

my question is this..

Will my Freelander on standard road tyres
Maxxis MA-S1 Marauder (Rear)
Goodyear WRANGLER HP ALL WEATHER (Front)
all with a very healthy level of tread, be able to cope
with most of the weather we are likely to get over the winter period??

I don't do many miles and most of them are on main roads, so I suppose its
just a case of getting to the main road...are these capable tyres??

Thanks in advance..:)

I fit all terrains in winter as I go off road in field ect I don't see
Why normal road tyres would not cope with snow on std roads

Hi
Yes they will. I had a Rav4 with old tyres that went up a 1:4 snow covered road no problem, and other 4x4's did too, Land Rovers et al. As long as you have decent tread, it should be fine.

I had normal crappy budget road tyres on mine last winter and managed the snow/ice no problems at all.

Normal 4x4 road tyres with M&S on them are fine , Mine are michelin sychrones and have never got stuck even in 6" of snow :D

Can second that, ours is mustard in the snow, was glad of it when our little girl decided to arrive after a truck load of snow on top of ice.. even when gunned away it just grips, give it even more out of a junction and it will drift a treat :D

ive got some road standard bridgestones fitted and to be honest was great last year in the snow.

was wondering what its going to be like this year and there threatening minus 15 c .

should be interesting seeing that 1 inch of snow will bring the country to a standstill, unless its the right type of snow, LOL

gary

your so rite gary so funny when they say we was not ready for this type of snow sadly the uk sucks at snow BIG time but for once iam looking foreward to it 1st play in it with my landy lol
