How much o_O Better off getting brand new BFGs at £100 a wheel ex (but fitted) for 215/70/16 which is what I paid.

Go for the Grabber AT, got them on my D2 and amazed at just how good they are for an all terrain tyre, much better self cleaning properties than the BFG too ;)

Tyresdirect.co.uk I think they're in Luton area supplied me 4 x 255/60 18 Grabber AT for £143 each delivered

Holy smoke you pay alot for that extra 2" of rim! The 215/65/16's are £105 ish per tyre fitted from my local.

A mate of mine has them on his Disco 3 and they're very impressive.

Yep, but worth every penny to have good handling on road as well as good characteristics off it ;)

Ah, no VAT makes a bit of a difference ;)!!! My local quotes me 125 per corner fitted for BFG's. Every review I read of every AT tyres is basically summed up as "yeh they're ok, but they're no BFG." The Grabber AT only falls short on wear, from what I've read. Still better than many others - but no 50k plus BFG :).

The tyre casing will fail on a BFG before they wear out, we had countless ones go 'out of round' where a sharp flint had penetrated enough to damage the wire thus causing a bulge in the tread...

Ha that so :D? Well there you go gents ;).

Oft road tyres in our sizes are just car tyres with deeper thread. If you split one open you'll see the side walls int any thicker. There dun't seem to be any additional strength which I'd eggspect. "They're not like the van tyres used on 4x4's oft road during the 90's" a tyre fitter said to me. Hence why I split some of mine open when changing them. He was right.

Simple solution: Buy a proper Land Rover to get proper tyres :p

The big question is: do you really need such an aggressive tyre?

Would something like a pirelli scorpion str do? Or another road biased AT tyre? Removed my grabber AT2's a while ago as they started to annoy and were in my opinion crap.
