ITS BEGUN!

well i decided to rebuild my 1988 90". im going to do a full rebuild, chassis, engine running gear THE WORKS!! here it is at the moment..............

yesterday i collected a new bulkhead from a TD5 and stripped it today

its in quite good nick, will get it shot blasted and any get it ready for the new paint,

due to collect the donor vehicle in the next few weeks, a 3.9L V8 Disco 1, i will be using all the axles and braking system and refurbing before they go on the new chassis (which i havent aquired yet!) this will be a long project that will be built when i have time and as im also NOT A MECHANIC, so will be wreckin your heads lookin for assistance when required.

i assume your keeping the pod? if not , ILL TAKE IT OFF YOU but other than that bud, the truck looks brilliant! look forward to reading thisone!

will do,

went looking for a place to get panels shot blasted today, turns out there is a stone mason 1km from my house who has a blasting machine. charging €40 p/h sounds expensive but he reckons he'll have a bulk head done in 1 hr, sounds ok to me, will try drop it in tomorrow and get it back mid week where i will get more pics and get filling and treating any rust there might be.

Well i took the plunge today, got the bulkhead shot blasted and dropped it up to a massive plant where they told me it would be put in to a jig and dipped twice just to get rid of all the impurity's like plastic clips etc that might not have come out €25 a dip, so €50 in total. Bargain or at least i think so!

going on holidays for 2 weeks so wont have it back till after that. more pics to follow upon its return
