Get a voltmeter on the contacts, or as said above follow the wires. It could be a power supply for the LR possibly? For a hot start or something? Or would it be the wrong gender?

I work for national grid and i can tell you that point is used for a capstan winch to be fitted on and off and the 110v output is for the control pedal for it!!
