Right chaps! I'm in the market to purchase my first Range Rover!:crazy_driver:

I'm after an L322 In either Petrol or Diesel. Its just a matter of finding the one thats had the most common Faults already fixed, the main one being the Gearbox.
A post facelift would be great but not essential!
I'm scouring eBay and Auto-trader but if any of you wonderful people come across a tidy example under £9000 a heads up would be much appreciated!!

Oh undoubtedly!! Its the Gearbox that scares me the most though!!

I was also considering a Porsche Cayenne.

As I understand it, with the facelift came RRs return to the ZF gearbox so the problem goes away.

as another post along the same thinking has been going, not only the g/box. you have other issues as well. a lot more electrics on the L322 = a lot more to wrong at some point. and there is the ongoing argument about the price of spares should something go wrong. not only on the 1st of the model, but later models as well. something is bound to cost you more than you think to repair it.

My thoughts with the Cayenne were that although parts may be more expensive the seem to have FAR less issues and failures?

Although I was toying between the cayenne and the range rover when first on the lookout for cars :S

Just the idea of 5.5 L of petrol engine turned me off lol

And looking at the early models now they do look quite ugly TBH

well god help you with the insurance costs then, oh and the user name-thats gonna cause all sorts of issues for you, most older members here will only ever think you like the fudge well packed so to say
