335d with m pack, did insurance through bmw as brand new. Dealer winked at me and said if you go for normal bmw 19 alloys, removing the m mark from the wheels, same with steering wheel and sills debadge completely you'll be able to knock off 200 squid with the insurer and lo and behold....
I actually now enjoy it when i have the audi inches from my bumper or atempting a stupid overtake because he thinks i drive a 320d.......wooosh
Do wish i could actually have that engine in the dse, brilliant engineering. More power and torque than the 850 i had and ican go twice the distance!

You'll be fine unless you have an accident and an assessor gets to look at it. You will then find you are uninsured
I had a 1997 740i a few years ago, and it didn't have a badge on the back, but I wanted one - so I went to the local BMW dealer to get one, I took the Log Book with me to prove it was a 740 and I wasn't trying to over-badge a 728 as I felt embarrased asking for a badge....so to prove it I took the documents - made me feel better....!!
