Right,
I'm in need of purchasing one of these, so is it Nano or Faultmate.
I understand that the Nano is multi vehicle & the Faultmate is single vehicle (by choice of options & at a price to suit), so we are looking at around a £200 price difference between the two for very similar functions, so I believe.
So the question's are.
What does the Faultmate actually do that the Nano doesn't (apart from unlocking the BeCM with yet another expensive module) & is it really worth the extra expense.
Personally I would rather use my laptop to utilise these features if possible. Probably because I'm old & my eyes are ****ed, **** happens, so deal with it

Faultmate: Single vehicle tied to VIN, up to 2 extra VIN's possible by purchase of extra licences. Can also be purchased as multi vehicle and buy just the software modules you need and add as required. Extreme version can be used stand alone (no laptop) if required. Will also cover more different vehicles than just the P38. Multi vehicle expensive, about £750, but better than most pro stuff.
Nanocom: P38 only but not tied to VIN. All info displayed on the built in screen no ability to use a laptop. Cheap, ideal DIY unless your eyes are bad.

If you want it for your car, get the Nanocom. The Faultmate is more capable with add on modules but the price is high for one vehicle.

The Nanocom cannot direct access the BECM to unlock it. Otherwise it does all the Faultmate does.
A Faultmate nano single vehicle is about 40% more expensive than a Nanocom but then you need to have a laptop to do anything.
