i aggree. I am moving heavy truck wheels alot and i use a spade. A nice flat bottomed one. From there you can just roll them where you want them
Easy way to change a wheel is to use a shovel or spade under the tyre. We had a tyre fitter who was in his sixties who could change a trailer wide single using a shovel faster than we could using a bottle jack handle, and we were in our twenties.
Is this a uniquely Cornwall trick?
I seem to remember a Christopher Miners driver do exactly that on the quayside in Roscoff just before the midnight ferry sailed - we all thought the guy would miss the ferry and went to help - but he showed us a trick or two that night.
