Ive got the torque wrench, Ive checked the manual for correct settings and that says 4 NM my engine is a 200tdi from a disco that Ive had put into my defender but my torque wrench only starts at 26NM, so am i reading it wrong ? or is there another setting for a discovery 200tdi if I'm right were can i get a wrench that will do the job, i need help

If you have a small ratchet, 1/4 drive (they are usually about 3-4 inches long) hold it about 3/4 of the way along, and once tight with one finger give it a reasonable pull. That will be about the 4NM point.

N.B. If you are a tank, maybe hold it 1/2 way!

spend a little + buy the proper tool for the job m8 -a good 1's not expensive.

if you thread that rocker cover bolt its a whole world of hurt to drill it + helicoil so you'll be spending even more money buying even more tools ;)

''do it nice or do it twice'' :p

4 nm is about 35.5 pound-force-inches.

Extrapolate that out to a (let's say) six-inch ratchet handle and that gives you a force of about 6 lbs. If you have a fishing scale you could hang that off the end of your ratchet handle and apply 6 pounds of force.

Or buy a small torque wrench as above :)

Every single nut and bolt one an engine, gearbox etc. has a torque spec, I sure as hell don't go and get the torque wrench out for every single nut and bolt. You just know what is about right.
