Hi guys, currently a defender driver! I am looking at changing to a L322 RR, a 3.0 td6 model, 2002, HSE spec, 89,000 miles. The car is up for £7,500 as a trade clearance. I know of the previous owner.
No known faults, FLRSH. Is this a good deal?
I have also inquired with warranty Direct about a gold standard policy (including wear and tear items), and the price is £500 per annum. This covers just about everything, I have checked the small print.

This means I could be in a L322 with a years warranty for £8k, sounds like a deal! Is there a pre-buy check list at all?

Search for the checklist
It's pretty long !

Check history as the gearboxes go at around your mileage and are an expensive fix
If all Is ok then it sounds good, be aware that the HSE spec will be up to £1500 cheaper than the vogue, so be carefull as some of the HSE's can be really basic.
And if your lucky you can get some vogue spec ones like I did

I heard about the gearbox weakness. This is why I'm looking at the warranty, which will specifically cover the gearbox, suspension airbags etc.
What is the difference between HSE spec and the Vogue. This one doesn't have sat nav- which I actually prefer to the outdated and unergonomic factory fit.

Depends
The basic HSE doesnt have much
Ie heated seats in the back, sunroof, xenon headlights, sat nav, upgraded audio etc etc
Too much to list

But some HSE ones are pretty much the same spec as the vogues
I was lucky with mine as I had everything but the sat nav which yes is outdated !

So I fitted an aftermarket unit which is much better than the vogue sat nav

Where are you based ? If you are local someone may be able to help go look at this car ?

Just got the 4.4 2003 Vogue on Gas....IT IS FECKING BRILLIANT....

I had a niggle that gave cause for concern, ABS Wiring (Check out my recent posts) but with luck a and a new sensor the issue is resolved...but did give a Squeaky Bum moment for sure....

I got mine for a hair over £7k - and I am over the moon....you'll enjoy it, just makes sure you check EVERYTHING....and if you get to test drive it without a sales person, find a quiet road and park up, that way you can crawl all over it without prying eyes or feeling watched....

Hi everyone. I inspected the RR today. Printed out the pre buy check list and went over everything.
Air suspension was perfect, went up down as expected. Did not drop after leaving it be.
Gearbox was lovely, drove super smooth, no jerkiness.
Only issues are rear tyres have about 5mm tread on them. Parking sensors seem faulty as they beep all the time intermittantly. And the last two services were by ford. Are any of these cause for concern on a 7.45 k RR

If the PDC beeps intermittantly, check they are clean....a fault is usually signalled by a continuous tone and the light flashing.

I just got my Vogue on LPG for a shade over £7k, and loving every minute of it, it did pop up a fault that I traced to a dodgy ABS sensor....New one from LR Dealer £17.60+VAT....

My ride height is a little low, so I have asked LR Service Centre to adjust which is gonna cost around £110 for the hours work....

They are great to drive and I have had mine now for 3.5 days and can't stop smiling.....they are expensive to fix, although basic mechanical parts like Brake Pads, Discs, Rad, Water Pump etc etc aren't to badly priced....the amount of work required to get at these components is a little daunting in places, and the electrical side is where it gets expensive....
