Hi. guys. I am trying to eliminate vibration and harshness from my series 3 diesel. This is mainly at idle/low revs I have changed engine mountings but not gearbox mountings. Are original engine gearbox mountings still obtainable.? Can defender ones be used? I found nothing on a search of old threads.

Don't know if defender ones are suitable.

Thanks for that I will get some. I fitted cheap pattern ones when I put engine back in they may be part of the trouble.

Recently had new engine and box mounts in my S3 diesel. She drives much better and there seems to be much less backlash in the drive train.

Were they original spec or Britpart and where did you buy them please?

I had it done when I had the rear main seal and clutch changed by a Landy Specialist. I believe they are genuine ones. Britpart don't seem to be able to offer a rubber handbrake gaitor that doesn't perish within 12 months so I wouldn't want to chance their mountings.
You never know though - probably all the same supplier!
