too far for me m8 unless you wanna travel down to stonehenge:scratching_chin:

done my starter last night 20 min job 1 bolt at the back is a bit tricky

£20 for a starter from my local landy guy

1st tho i would check your earths and make sure earth strap hasnt come off starter
and also the trigger wire on the starter mine had melted thru after coming in contact with the manifold

And check the battery, eh WLM?

as others have said, your starter might be fine, and you might just have poor cranking power? corroded battery terminals, corroded earths etc!

Worth getting them to diagnose before committing to a new starter I think. (and by 'them' I mean anyone except the garage that quoted you for 5 hours :) )

Thanks for all the help and tips , im sure its not a bad earth i went to try it today and both attempts first touch fires straight up , i think its with it not used everyday its sticking on the odd ocassion as theres allways plenty of power it sounds to much power when it fails to engage , Anyway again thanks everyone i will do a maintinance start up everyday and see if that cures it fingers crossed gerry

I'm up the road from you, if you go the replacement starter route then give me a shout before you let a garage take the ****.
