I suppose we all make a must do list as our discos get older.

my old J plater is fine driving locally,
but just done about 150 miles return trip on the A 12 to london and back yesterday,
so as a passenger homewards, I got more time to "listen" to my disco 200 doosel.

at a steady 60mph it just rattles along nicely as they do,
but at 50 mph, i noticed a howling N/S/Front wheel bearing making "please fix me" noises.

the heater although "warm" is not hot, so that needs the attention of reverse flushing with me hose pipe when it gets warmer.

I seem to have a O/S/front sticky caliper/or needs bleeding,
to be sorted when its warmer weather too.
fine when you stamp on the peddle, but slow braking it pulls to the left a bit..

since my 3year old grandson was using the light/ indicator switch as a gear change,
I only have side lights + dim dip, and flash by pulling back the switch arm,
but notice at engine stopped, but ignition on, switching from side lights to headlights, the behind dash solinoid clicks on and off,
may be a fuse? will also look laters...
(my daughter uses a matchbox jammed behind swich to keep it on "full beam" when she drives my landie, which is most of the time at the moment)
but as the full beam is ****e, no one flashes her for blinding them!
Another must do laters thing.

Oil levels in axles and gear boxes,
I purchased oils, but been too "old" to get under yet again,
another laters thing,
along with an oil & filter change, still not yet done..

As I`ve been up most of the night, after a long & tiring day at hospital yesterday, i got the dreaded leg cramp about 3-30 am this morning,
so its about time to go beddie bies again..lol
Its about the only thing I cant put off for long also...

Have a nice day all,

easye1......:car:

Got my Disco back from my daughter for a "few days".......

got in but noticed I cant see out the back window?

found the mirror smashed to fcuk in the seat mechenism...

also noticed my drivers seat goes all wobbly going round corners..

gotta getta mig out again i spose....

plate & weld it back to the floor...

luv them landies....lol

had my landie back again yesterday
(still cant find the fault with my daughters fookin ford KA)

and had a 130miles round trip up/down the horrid A12.

a couple of things I "still not done"
1 was the front wheel bearing.........poor thing, its screaming out to be replaced..

must say tho`

being a landrover, you just get in it, turn the key,
and it goes, it goes and it goes...
it does complain, but like an old soldier, it just keeps on going bless it!

my dearest daughter has made a new "must do job" for me to get round to doing it,

now shes broken the tailgate door lock/handle mechinism...

easye1 is now looking for a quick fix on the zone, or tinternet......

but the old landie keeps rolling along.........................lol

I did a 250 mile round trip on a suspected failing wheel bearing, stupid? Yes. Funny? Yes lol. Was a must do trip. Got 10 miles from home before it finally gave up. Destroyed hub and half shaft, lucky I had a mate with a breaker. All fixed in 4hrs for a meat feast pizza :D. But I wouldn't put it off much longer. N ur daughter seems to be good at breaking cars lol...

my window regulator and light stalk seems pretty minor and not as irritating as I initially thought compared to your list! :D lol

;)
B I G lol from me...

bless her, she actually loves my disco now, drives it
"like a bloke"
(duck, run for cover from our lady landie drivers)

your right tho` discomark,
I still got a pair of new rear wheel bearings I never used from a set,
so I`ve ordered some new oil seals.
just hope the rear bearings fit the front?

re:- ur daughter seems to be good at breaking cars ?

shes got a "nice" 2000 model year 1300 KA, it started to missfire on middle 2 plugs.
I put new coilpack, new plugs & leads,
3 "tested" ECU`s/lockring & chip keys on it,
tested the potentiameter on throttle valve, lambda probe, flywheel sensor, and mass airflow meter, the slow running/idle switch............nada/nothing/zilch
still keeps coming up on a powerscan readout as:-
code 0352 - ignition coilB/primery-secondry curcuit malfuction!

so now buying another "branded" coilpack to try....
it starts instantly hot or cold, even left for weeks under feet of snow running nicely on all 4 cylinders,
but give it a few revs, and it cuts sparks to middle 2 plugs, as you can hold the leads with no shock, but let revs slowdown,
and get your hands blown off!

Ohhh, I do like a "challenge"....lol

I fixed the tailgate door handle today..
went out armed with a bucket of tools,
torch & reading glasses..... ( I is old!)

tried looking upside down at the outside handle with a torch!
tried pulling the lever back down,
then realised the oval LR badge pops out to see the handle...:)

saw it had come out of its 2 pivot places so "fixed it" back inplace, greased it all up nicely, and the door opened with a bit of a grunt from me..

I then pulled the door panel off enough to get the red tube in the WD40 can inside the door and sprayed eveything in and around the door lock untill it was dripping out the bottom of the door..

opened the door a few times and it was as good as new `ish...

so, out of the bucket of tools I used,
1 bucket handle bent into a U shape to pull down door handle/lever,
1 big flat blade screwdriver,
1 pair of pliers,
1 phillips screwdriver,
1 mostly used can of WD40,
some grease.

I love orange B&Q orange buckets, dont you....

I loved the fookin door opening again better..:)..lol

Oh, still not fixed my headlight "problem"

but my daughter has bought a new box of matches?

to jam behind mainbeam part of light stalk....believe me,
it works......men would buy a new switch, wire it in, blow some fuses........lol
