Thought I'd post my experience of fitting one of the e-bay parking sensor kits on my P38. The display unit that has a sounder, a distance display and a L / R indicator was put on the top of the steering column cover. This isnt perfect as the steering wheel blocks the distance display when your turning however it's the sounder that most useful and it's nice and loud here. The cable was run down the driver side by removing all the plastics alongside the doors (had to remove the driver seat plastics too). The rear luggage compartment plastic cover was removed to get the cable through to the opening flap by the rear lights. To find the plug for power to the reversing lights the right side boot lining cover will also need to be loosened and pulled out a little. This exposes the connector (C306) that has the wires you need. I just stripped the wires off and soldered the power wires of the parking sensors to them. Although it sounds a lot of work, this lot took about an hour and a half. To install the sensors I just put masking tape on the bumper, marked the centre point and put the senor holes 40 cms apart. I drilled the holes in the plastic bumper using the hole saw provided with the kit but bought a 20mm cutter from Screwfix to drill the metal holes (Holesaw 20mm | Screwfix.com) this did the job in minutes. The sensors were pushed into place and the cables cable tied to the cable that was there for my towbar electronics. The cables then passed through the rubber gromet that is there for the cable to the bottom boot lid. All that remained was to fix the electronics box to the cover by the rear light with the provided double sided tape and everything was done. Any questions feel free to ask.
