Gents and Gentesses.

I am thinking of having the checker plate on the truck re-sprayed satin black.

The questions...

1. Should I or does it look better in steel?

2. How much should I expect to pay to have someone do it?

3. Surely buying a completely new kit in black is unnecessary?

Your advice, as always, is appreciated.

Why not do it yourself?

I did mine nearly 4 years ago and it's just coming up to the point where it needs re-doing as it has quite a few chips in it.

I'm an eejit and I want it to look good.

If you were paying to get em done it would be cheaper to buy new chequerplate.

The plus side of doing that is that there is alway some mug on ebay happy to pay over the odds for your old stuff.

Bought black powder coated checker kit to fit to the tank. Anyone want to make a sensible offer on the soon to be redundant steel checker kit?

Sorry Wiltshire Lady. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I was waiting for some aggressive banter! Hence why I then called it a 'tank' later on. Thought you guys would have picked up on that?!? You are right - 'Aluminium'. Well. If anyone wants a set for their 'car' let me know.

Cheers lads.
