Didn't know gearboxes had translation devices in them.
i am sure he meant TORQUE.
it would be good if they did talk to us, to tell us what is wrong and if they feel they are going to collapse on us.
back to your question, best way is to check the model plates on the side. there are 2 types of box from what i have read. 1 for the GEMS engine and 1 for the THOR engine. just make sure they have the same part code/model type.

As far as I know all 4.6 boxes are the same, ZF4HP24. I believe you will need to re calibrate the auto box ECU when you change the box, not sure about that but I remember something along those lines in RAVE. Two different sizes of torque convertor were fitted though.

You're wrong, 4.6 is ZF4HP24, diesel and 4.0 is ZF4HP22
