they aint testable. i looked into this after mine stayed on permanantly. it was the 3rd time i got pulled that i was issued a vehicle defect note lol. out came the bulbs - one check and an MOT later we're good to go. although people dont seem to ike it when you reverse at them and they dont know
ill try it tommrow see if the lights stay on. works dead at minuite so any chance i get to spend time playing i will. got all my oils changed other day for note. saved all odds and ends at work managed to get enough together to change them all
There is a reverse light switch on the gearbox output housing ... that's the problem... check it's plug/wiring first, if no joy replace it, it's cheap...looks like this Land Rover Discovery 1 R380 Reverse light Switch CDU51L | eBay presuming u have an R380 box ...unplug it and bridge the terminals within the plug with ignition on...if the lights will work fine it means the switch is gone
I did mine this weekend. Crawl underneath and you can get to it easily. I took mine out, tested it with a multimeter and it was ok. Just needed adjusting. Put the car into reverse, screw in the switch until the lights come on and then another half turn. Test them by putting in and out of gear. Sorted.
