I fitted a fire extinguisher in the cab of my Defender today ... anybody else got one in theirs and if not why not?

Put a fire out of course

I have this fear especially when off roading that you be trapped in your vehicle and it starts to burn. At least you've got a fighting chance with an extinguisher to hand

Yes but until I fix the chassis and rebuild it, it may as well be int' garage.

1Kg Powder ... does a 7 second burst. Escaping would naturally be priority but at least it's in the cab for others if I happen to be first on the scene somewhere

In a word...yes, but getting too old for work during the day and punishing myself at night as well. Only weekends and daytime at this time of the year. Cold in the garage and too dark.

Get out and stay away. In the event of an engine fire, crack the bonnet an inch, fire your thing in and **** off as fast as you can.

got one im my Disco, but tis the law here to carry one along with spare bulbs and a red triangle so they are all in there somewhere under the kinetic, straps, shackles, spade, axe, spare track rod and tools, i would be fooked if i had to find it in a hurry, but then the disco is laid up with an acute case of the exploding diff at the mo so its not really an issue.

Considering they only cost little over £10 it should be law to carry one in the UK too IMO. You can't put a price on saving someone from burning to death!

I have a couple. Small in the dash, bigger in the back.

However if my landy set on fire my tears would put the fire out.

It is petrol though so when it's time to run its time to run.
