OK, bit stuck on this one, hopefully someone can help. The rear electric windows mostly do not work on my RRC. Tpplies to both sides and both the switches on the back doors and on the centre console in the front.

When they do work, they both work from all four switches, so I think we can rule out a switch/motor fault.

What else could it be? My only thought is a faulty "lockout" switch (the one in the centre console that stops the rear switches working), but am I right in thinking the front console buttons should still operate the rear windows, or does it prevent the windows being opened or closed completely?

Any other ideas?

Cheers!

Interested in this as my near side rear one does this. It goes down ok but sometimes doesn't come back up.

Had a look on RAVE and can't see anything about a window ECU or contacts that may need cleaning. Any more info on this, please?

Look for the common link - the rear window relay. If the relay sticks or has an intermittent ground problem the rear windows will not work. BTW I don't think there is a window ECU on a classic. There is a one touch switch thing on drivers door but no ecu.

Do relays tend to have intermittent faults? I always thought they either worked or didn't! Guess I can swap it over with a similar relay for something else (the front windows?) and see if that works!
