so you should hae a mass of info to trawl thru then

engine mounts need changing. and a load of wiring for the bin ecu etc.. also mpi gearbox no good , and the transfer box is defender ratio just the wiring bits a pain , as there is so much to get rid of ...

yep i have done it . fuel lines you can use. theres nothing else to tell its a peice of ****.

they were sooooooo slow how big a turbo you got a lorry one

are the engine mounts a bolt on job or are they weld on ? also whats the problem with the box ? i thought if using the std mpi box (lt77) and the transfer box it would still be the same ratio ? or am i missing something ?

engine mounts weld on to chassis. you carnt use mpi box main shaft to long. and like i said transfer box is same as a 90 , ok to use if your running big tyres. did mine a year ago now .

Not necessarily turbo the original motor, I heard the best plan was to drop in a rover 800 lump or something?

thats what they were the rover 800 lump , a right load of crap couldnt pull a skin off a rice pud. and did 20 mpg , 2.0 litre 16v dont go well in a 2.5 ton landy.

The 2.0 mpi engine is the same engine as fitted to the Rover 220 turbo, so turbocharging an Mpi Disco is not that bad an idea, and it has been done quite a few times. They can handle 220 bhp easily enough without going bang. The only problem is, that all the power is at the top end of the engine range, which is not what you want for towing heavy loads.

Of course, but for a quick disco it's nice and easy and a cheap way to get laughs. Especially if you get an atmospheric blow off valve on there and a bad boy exhaust y0
