I use 235/85 x16s on 16inch alloys on our TD5 currently for RTV trials (NOT for road use). They won't fit without a min 1.5inch suspension lift & removal of the lower section of the front bumper (or cutting back the wheel arch section of the bumper).
You'll also have to cut back & probably have to fabricate brackets to hold the front inner wheel arch liners to the front of the frt tyres.
They're approx 32 inches in diameter - so will also gear up the car by ~ 10% & cause the speedo to under-read by the same 10%
BUT - as said above - why on earth would you want to fit them if you're not going offroad ? (Many tyres this size will be a pig to balance because there's so much sidewall / tread).
