was at a pay n play on sunday and all was well untill after dinner i pulled up and turned engine off to watch an audi q7 that was stuck oh how we laughed

jumped back in disco turned key nothin, connected jump leads turned key and there was a slight turn as if the battery was dead, left jump leads connected and tried 5 mins later but still nothin

in the end i bump started it down hill and it fired up,continued playin for another hour and then the mrs stalled it and it wouldnt start again so we got it goin by jump starting it again

drove over an hr home stopped at my place turned off and went to start again and it was dead

so tonight i took both batterys off and put them on the battery charger and within 2 mins it said they were fully charged,i havent put them back on yet to see if it starts, but am i looking at the wrong cause what else could it probably be?

batteries still may be fooked ,try a known good battery ,then leads ,solenoids, earths etc,if it is battery7 check out put from alternator when new battery fitted

Mine was doing exactly the same....

even on the last Salisbury trip i done with my disco, buckshot had to give it a push to start it..and i didnt even dare to switch it off the whole day

there ya go!

start with turning the key and wack the start at the same time... if it suddently springs to life... you found your problem :)

I'll have a look in the garage next time i go out for a smoke, I had a few starters motors, which i used to take bits off and make a good one, might still have an half decent one laying around. I'll let you know

Hey rich , do you have a spare solonoid off a 19j starter kicking about ?? , try changing over the starter solonoids ( can do em in situ but a bit fiddley ) . had solonoid probs with mine a few months back .

if yours is the 300... its dead easy to do, you can get to all the bolts from the top, on the 200 you have to get underneath to get to one of them...
