give up with the bag of **** now, just use and abuse it til it goes no more,if the fault does not show up,points to mechanical? can't be arsed with it now, cost £2000 so far that is it for now, could of bought a toyota surf, saving pennies now for a different 4x4.
if the guys with the equipment cannot find it what chance have i got,i take it the diesels run like like a bag of **** on the overrun.

No mine is as smooth as silk in both directions. Don't matter how good the diagnostics are, they won't tell you about a cylinder being down because of a duff valve. Or two cylinders playing with each other cause the gasket between them's blowing. Thought of a compression test yet?

nope interest has completely gone at the moment, think i should leave it alone for the time being, will just use it as and when, and drive it like i stole it.

Roddy take a look at Land rover Tech bulletin 0020. Issue 2.
Dated 09-02-2000. Entitled Engine judder/ Surge at 900 RPM. New ECM required.
ok how much are these? and is it plug in and play or does it require setting up. thanks for the info.

Try Emmotts for a S/H one, you have the part number. Yes it will need hand shaking to BECM.

second hand? would new be very expensive,i could get another with other faults. pity i can't try before i buy lol,it needs a lot to be fair, new fusebox wouldn't hurt.

Offer me enough cash and I might sell you the one out of my pre EGR 96 that I'm scrapping. Working fine, checks out on Faultmate:)

Of course there is always the off chance it may not be the problem. But the tech sheet is the only thing i can find that mentions the problem. If it runs a starts normally hot and cold then i would not think it is the FIP. So it's worth a try.

Odds on it will be a worn track on the fuel quantity servo potentiometer. Or the return spring has gone weak or failed.
