Hi All,

Im I first time user to this forum and would welcome some help with a light problem.

I have a 2007, FL2, 2.2 Diesel. The passenger side, rear tail light is not working. I have spoken to a variety of garages about this and none have given me the confidence to to use them as they are more interested in the cost, than the solution.

I managed to get a mate to check the connections for me and he confirmed that the lighting unit and wiring is fine, but he suggested that a relay/gadget box that tells the lights what to do is faulty as he was getting varying power feed levels, even when the car is off.

All other lights/fuses are fine. The tail light shares a joint bulb with the stop light and that is fine. We have also cleaned the connections.

Any thoughts/help greatly welcome.

"The tail light shares a joint bulb with the stop light". Is that a single filament bulb, or the old twin-filament? I don't know the FL2 rear lamp. If it's single filament, the varying voltage may be your friend's meter struggling to correctly measure the chopped voltage in tail mode.

Ah ok thanks for the update.

I've changed bulb. Then swapped bulb with the known working drivers side bulb. Checked the fuse for brake light which is fine. Which I imagine would need to be for the drivers side tailgate/brake light to be working? Even if there was a seperate fuse for the tailights it would be for both. I checked the contacts, pins etc which all looked clean and positioned well. I gave the contacts to the bulb a clean with scotch brite as they were a little brown. Nothing obvious wiring wise to/from plugs. Nothing broken, frayed or dislodged that I can see.

So strange as all drivers side brake lights work and taillights. The brake light works on the new and old bulbs on the passanger side but the taillight element won't switch on on either bulbs.

I'm lost.

There's no fuse for the tail lights. The power is supplied by the CJB (Central Junction Box) which is the body control computer.
You'll need to have a diagnostic run on the CJB, to see if it shows up an issue with one of the drive transistors.

Yes, every light controlled by the CJB has its own MOSFET power transistor.
