Can promise you'll get an answer. Maybe I'll ask something about paint colours or maybe veg oil in place of diesel - -can't see they've been covered before either

Hope you're well by the way. Find myself in London for 4 days this week - would rather be dismantling my buggered rear diff to see if I'm just looking at a bearing or.....a recon diff!

I'm well thanks SH ... not been on here much lately as we've been very busy at work and I also had to get another car for normal use to replace the A-Class.
Enjoy London, I try not to stay too long when I go there ;)
... regarding the rear diff I hope it's not too bad ... mine was leaking recently so I drained it fully, cleaned out the breathers and fitted a new pinion seal ... yours sounds a little worse

:hijacked:

Indeed - day job sees me in lon 2 - 3 days a week at the moment. Just has to be done but at least got to see my daughter this evening (kids are still down South)

Diff - not sure if flange has worked lose, pinion bearing knackered or a couple of teeth have vanished. Anyway, not had rear half shafts out before, so might as well strip down and see what's what

I bought a rear recon diff for £40 last year, not too bad a job but a lot easier than the front! Let us all know what you find in there buddy ;)

Hi Lee, I've steered clear of electronic alarms on mine and use a Disklok all the time (with wheels on full lock). Due to these being very sought after by thieves you need to fit whatever you can but I have to say I would go for a tracker over an alarm on my Landy.

Thanks Andy land, I am thinking of putting several deterrents on it a more sturdy rear lock and privacy glass, alarm with proximity sensor and maybe a tracker as well tbh as I am very concerned about the amount of defenders that disappear and don't come back

Good move ... with that lot you stand a chance of keeping it ... really depends on where it's kept overnight as lots are stolen by lifting straight onto a truck ... this you can do little about if it's away from your house. A tracker is the only thing that will save you then. Anyway ... less of the pessimism and enjoy the Landy :):)
