Hello all, well let me just say its been a while... and theres a good reason for it. My belovid P38 DSE has been off the road for a while due to me blowing the engine to bits, i was off roading and hit a "puddle"at about 20mph, the puddle was alot deeper than i thort and ended up to the windows so water was sucked into the engine and she hydroliced... i limped it off the waste ground on 5 cylinders at tickover speed then suddenly she came back on 6 cylinders... brilliant i thort but then a huge bang and it had thrown a con rod out the side of the block, so i saved up for a new engine and sent it to a place we all no and love, new engine fitted and a grand later i was back on the road... i managed 260 mile then booom... it blew the rad and over heated, so now waiting to go back under warrenty for a re-placement, cant wait... im back on ere so il keep you posted... needless to say i was having a bad week, then just this weekend my van shatterd the duel mass fly wheel and sent the bits threw the side of the gearbox so another big friggin disaster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't scare me:eek: about DMF's, the one on my Tranny is shagged and rattling like mad, got a new solid flywheel to fit, just waiting for a transmission jack to support the gearbox which I'll pick up while I'm in the UK next month. Hope it will last for a bit of local running around until then. After the Tranny it's the much bigger job of swapping the P38 autobox. Not looking forward to that:(

Does not always work. Years ago i had a bump in my old Disco, a couple of weeks later broke my finger, then the wife left. So i am still waiting for the third bad thing to happen.:D:D:D

Well you all said it comes in threes... my f'ing gearbox has given up now, to set of i have to select 1st then set off then select drive (autobox).
It happend when i set off from work, i put my foot down then there was a bang as it kicked down but seemed ok so i carried on untill i stopped at the traffic lights, when they went on green it just wouldnt move in D i had to put it in first etc etc so im guessing its the "spragg clutch" thats gone?????
