gotta replace swival ball and seal... £100 to start with..

track rod ends on n/s are held in with castle nuts and split pins.. there is no way i'm gonna get them split pins out.. can i replace the castle nuts with lock nuts?

and if so what size lock nuts do i need?

cheers....

i would too..

but i dont think i'll even get the old pins out.. so was just gonna wind the old castle nut off and leave the bits in the shaft and use a lock nut instead...

ball joints use split pins ,you can shear pin with 19mm socket or spanner and drill pin out ,i do regular before hitting end of steering arm to break taper hold on joint ,steering and shockers etc often use non std thread pitch so finding nuts isnt easy and lr ball joints with nylocs are different thread to castle nut joints

Yeah all new track rod ends from MM-4x4 come with lock nuts as standard. The lock nuts and castle nuts use a different thread though so dont thing you can keep the new rod ends spare and just use the new nuts (like i thought lol)

Just snap the ends of the split pins off with wire cutters as best you can then wind the nuts off no problem. Either quicky drill the holes out and replace, or use greasable ball joints which are supplied with locknuts.

I just bought lh thread and rh thread off britpart to replace some in my terrafirma hd steering bars, they were about 7 quid each.

Up to you but definitely recommend the upgrade for off road as posted above :)
