Hi.Please could someone help me before I finally give in and set fire to the ******thing !
I had a 200tdi and manual box in this 110. I decided to put a v8 in it and bought an efi v8 and auto box but the ecu was naff. I have now taken that out and replaced it with one with twin su's.
Now everything is connected up the problem I have is that although I have stripped the carbs out and checked floats, valves etc there isn't any fuel getting into the cylinders. I can crank it for some time and then take the plugs out and they are still dry. It has a good spark, I replaced the out of tank high pressure pump with a Facet low pressure one but have now put the higher pressure one back, no change. This engine apparently was an efi but was converted by RPI V8's before I bought it.
I am obviously doing something silly so would welcome any advice.
Thanking you all in anticipation
Barry

On further inspection it appears that on the bottom of the butterflies/flaps operated by the accelerator pedal linkage, there is a small 'valve' about the size of a 5p coin. These appear to have been soldered in the closed position. Any ideas please, is this a mod or a bodge?

Have you got the fuel feed in the right direction ? Try cracking the fuel pipe a fraction and see if there is any fuel seeping out.

It should be running with the low pressure pump for the carbs. You should be able to hear the pump running in the tank, though it sounds like you have an inline one. Is it pulling fuel outof the tank.

It's a shame the EFi didn't work out for you, mine was good but I like the simplicity of carbs. Are you planning on gassing it later ?

Is there any fuel getting to the float bowls?
Hi there, I think fuel is getting to the bowls but difficult to tell as they are on the bottom of the carbs rather than the sides.
When I took the carbs off this afternoon, there was definately petrol in them.

Yes, when I crack off the pipes to both carbs, fuel is there. I only refitted high pressure pump in a fit of desparation ! I'll worry about lpg if and when I can overcome this crisis !
