Hi is there an addative you can add to the transfer box to stop leaks? I have heard of something called white shepard could someone tell me what this is

it will be cheaper and better in the long run to find the leak and fix it, instead of hiding it and waiting for it to bite you in the arse 6 months down the line

Say bye bye to transfer case bearings and hello to rebuilt transfer box.A 10 quid seal and some time or 250quid for a used box. Your choice, mistake, you live with it.

Easy way out will cost you money 95% of time and this is not the 5% in your favor.I stand a better chance at the EU lottery than your box lasting very long.

how does seal softener kill your bearings?

what ever the product material, it has to get mixed /suspended in the oil to stop the leak. thus reducing the lubricating properties of the oil and build up on bearing,races, and the case of needle bearings could plug them up in the cage that holds the needle bearings.

I am not sure 120ml of seal softener would knacker you bearings in several litres of oil but hey ho , each to there own.

as soon as I find where I can buy the gaskets and seals for my overdrive I will get it sorted properly - well maybe

have a power steering pump on a farm truck and switched to using hydrolic oil works good to only leaks a little have to refill every 2 months.Waiting for truck to die has 300k on a gas motor damn bastid is tough. a GMC 6.0 Liter petro
