The honest answer is I don't know but I suspect that although it will show the waveforms it will miss the glitches

I'll use the 20mhz. Don't need anything much higher than that when working on 1980s solid state radios. Should show up any glitches I would think.

I know mate the OE ones for mine (4.0 Petrol Gems) are over a grand!!
Balls to that, its not an option LOL!
I did the test today and its deffo the MAF thats gone, It runs fine once disconneted.
I got an 'Allmakes' version ordered (£80). I know the after market ones have a bit of bad press but i cant afford an OE spec MAF, plus ill be running the risk that a second hand OE Maf could also not actually have that much life left in it....
Ill let you know how I get on with the replacment tho when i get it

Know what you mean. I found a genuine one from p38spares for only about £250, but even that was waaaaaay more than I was expecting. Doubt they've got any left at that price now though - this was a couple of years ago now.
I spoke to him about them at thge time and he said almost every non oem one he had sold had been returned as faulty!

hi matey ive had same problem for 3 weeks finally got up to colne today and young jack put another maf unit on and its now perfect purrin as a lion .. anyway ring jess or jack or joe ( family firm as u can tell ) brilliant people emmotts of colne tel 0128259468,, tell em mozz told you an they will sort you out , next day delivery ,,,there the best landrover spares company in europe and probably the world !!!!!!! n jess makes a lovely coffee n biccies ....cheers mozz

My none genuine maf arrived today (Allmakes £80)
Iv put it on and it seems to have worked() but i havent really drove it long enough to test it properly, as iv only driven it a couple of miles straight after fitting it!
I did notice however that every so often it would feel a bit hesitant, like a flat spot when setting off.....
The revs when in 'N' are 750rpm, but when i put it in 'D' they drop to 500rpm. Would you say these rpm's are about right (I havent anything to compare against)

Revs sound about right. Mine hesitates as well, especially when you boot it from stationary - seems to be fine if the throttle is applied gradually.
I always thought it was down to a bad MAF, but mine continued to do it even after the MAF was replaced. Not all the time though, just often enough to be irritating.

Ok mate nice one, I think the MAF has deffo sorted it then. I can enjoy it once again, I love it when it's running how it should
