If the car breaks down and it's fixable by the side of the road, the microscopic screen on a iphone would be as much use as a chocolate radiator.
If I'm going far I always take my laptop and Faultmate, this ensures that by virtue of sods law it never breaks down. French insurance also covers recovery.
