Hi everyone...

I have had my SRS light on for a while now since it came on while back during some multiple jumpstarts!

Just had it plugged into Autologic and it has come up with Crash Sensor 1 Bad/Poor Earth... Please could anyone help me out as to where I could check the earths, and also which side is sensor 1?

I have unplugged and reseated both front sensor plugs, so fear it could be something inside or on SRS ECU...

Any help would be appreciated.

Just had the SRS ECU replaced on my L322. It was showing every fault possible and wouldn't reset. Final diagnosis was, "it's f**ked!".
New unit was £600 fitted at an LR independent, so brace yerself....

Look at RAVE for locations and wiring. You only have the two front sensors so check both if you cannot identify No 1 from RAVE. Could be a fault in the wiring or at the connector to the SRS ECU. You will have to trace the wiring through. alternatively the ECU could have failed.

I have airbag fault message on my 95 p38. I used faultmate to clear it but it only did briefly. It diagnosed THE AIRBAG FIRING CIRCUIT IS MEASURING SHORT TO GROUND. On another forum it recommended changing the rotary coupler which I did. However I am still left with the fault. I then suspected the ECU as a new fault was THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT HAS DETECTED AN INTERNAL FAULT. I have checked most of the connections but did not want to go as far as testing the short diodes until I have exhausted all other possibilities. I have by now 2 ecus from ebay which were known to be working as well as 2 airbags. I did reseat the crash sensors but to no avail. Seems to be similar to your problem. I have checked the loom routing but did not find chaffing as suspected by others. Hopefully some inspiring insight will be visited on us both by the good folk on here.

Airbag firing circuit short to ground could be a failed airbag, there is no way of testing without the airbag firing that I'm aware of, but if it has gone to internal fault I would suspect the ECU. The only option is to change the ECU and see if it fixes the problem
